St Mary's Cross
St Marys recent history has a tragic story and I don’t mind saying that it took a degree of courage photographing alone there one misty morning.
Yet, what I actually found was extraordinary beauty and peace there as the mist cleared back. The building itself should be approached with caution as the walls are deemed to be unsafe but the graveyard itself with some truly notable structures is now being managed with wildlife in mind. The glorious array of primroses give way to bluebells and wild garlic, cuckoo flower and cowslips give way to meadow grasses. I found a bustling wildlife haven as the church rest quietly in the background.
